Boat is in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
1975 Catalina 22, Swing Keel, with 5hp Mercury Outboard and majority of what you need to sail immediately. Full restoration in 2016.
I purchased the boat in winter of 2015 and my wife and I spent several hundred hours, spring 2016, restoring it to a high standard.
The restoration and equipping of the boat and trailer cost us over $3000, on top of the purchase cost, and included:
Complete topsides overhaul using the Interlux fiberglass refinishing system, which included repair of gelcoat, sanding, solvent wash, epoxy undercoating and finish with two coats of white yacht enamel. Deck surfaces were additionally coated with two more coats of blue deck paint with grip compound.
All teak handrails/door framing were fully removed for sanding and 4 coats of Sikkens Cetol varnish applied (beautiful!).
The winches were stripped down and regreased. All jam cleats were replaced.
The hull was in good condition and required only cleaning, minor gelcoat repair, and waxing above the waterline. The old antifoul was removed and Interlux VC17 antifoul was applied.
The keel was removed from the boat, stripped back to metal where needed and the profile was rebuilt using marine epoxy. The keel was finished with 4 coats of oil-based paint and then VC17 antifoul. All keel hardware was replaced including: the winch, the cable, the cable pivot guide, the rubber tube that the cable goes down through, the keel pivot pin and the keel bolts that hold it to the boat. The slot where the keel goes was cleaned and antifouled with VC17.
The rudder was stripped and finished with 2 coats of yacht enamel.
    Equipment:
Mast and boom in excellent condition. All rigging is stainless steel and in excellent condition.
3 sails: Mainsail, excellent; 130% Genoa, good; 110% Jib, good. Foresails are hank-on.
New Boom Vang. All new halyards/sail sheets.
3 anchors: one Bruce, two Danforths. With 100 ft anchor cable/chain.
Emergency flare pack. Boathook. Winch handle.
    2 life jackets.
All internal bed/seat cushions in excellent condition. Removed from boat and stored indoors through winter. Additionally two waterproof foam cushions for use in cockpit.
    Portable toilet.
5hp Mercury Outboard (2001) with low hours. Two portable fuel tanks. New prop 2017. (picture shows old prop).
Trailer, titled in PA, with new submersible LED lights fitted (picture shows temporary light set). Tires have very low miles. New spare tire. The trailer has an extendable tongue so the boat can be launched on a shallow shore.
The boat is titled/registered in PA and registration is paid up through the end of 2020.
What does it need? The boat is set up for day sailing on inland waters and does not have the navigation lights or any internal lights wired. The wiring is still present in the mast but was stripped out of the cabin by the previous owner. As far as I am aware the boat has been sailed on either Lake Erie or other small Ohio/Pennsylvania lakes for most if not all its life. The nav light fittings, on the foredeck, transom and mast are still there. The lights therefore should be wired if you are going to sail at night or offshore.
I have receipts for everything described. Price is firm as it represents a fair discount from our total materials cost and does not factor in the cost of our labor. I will consider selling without the outboard motor.
Happy to answer any questions. My address is: - Click to contact - . Phone: 4 one 2-779-87-four-three.
The boat is in my garden in Bethel Park, PA (just south of Pittsburgh). She is ready to sail!
