THE PERFECT Cruiser! She’s ready for The Great Loop, if you are. I am the third owner of this magnificent boat. The prior two owners were engineers and I am a semi-retired marine insurance company owner. The boat has had outstanding care and maintenance her entire life with many extra’s added along the way. The first owner wanted an easy boat to maintain and clean so he Awl Gripped the hull and topside so you don’t have to wax her, she shines like a new boat! The last owner was prepping her for the Great Loop and purchased extra parts and supplies like a propeller, alternator and belts, impellers, filters, etc. for the both the engine and alternator. I have installed all new Garmin Chart Plotters, Radar & Depth Sounders, and the older Chart Plotters are there for back up and work quite well. During my career I have read hundreds of surveys and inspected numerous boats. I spent 10 hours with the surveyor that I hired and this boat is built like a tank and the surveyor agreed she “is in excellent condition!” The minor recommendations have all been cleared. She has 1,200 hours on the engine.
The Symbol Yachts are still being built in Taiwan and there were twelve of this model imported in 2000. The boat spent a few years in Annapolis then went to the Great Lakes, which is where she is now. We have cruised her extensively and she is a joy to handle. The single CAT diesel is strong and very efficient and the bow and stern thrusters make her easy to maneuver and dock. We traveled through 45 locks in the Trent Severn and she’s easy to manage in tight quarters even with the strong currents and other boats. She’s equipped with eight standard fenders and four large round ball fenders.
She is a very livable boat, with two large staterooms, a beautiful large salon, and two full heads with showers and a compact galley with surprising storage. Upper and lower helm stations make for comfortable cruising and the large fly bridge is great for entertaining! I installed all new fly bridge enclosures for warmth and weather protection two new captain’s chairs and there is a propane built in grille for cooking as well.
Safe cruising is built into this boat; with wide decks on both sides, extra-large safety rails, water tight doors throughout, hand holds at key places, automatic fire extinguishing system, fuel and water gauges with manual sight gauges, extra anchor and rode, boarding steps, a boarding ladder and a large swim platform ladder. The aft mounted crane is excellent for lifting heavy items aboard. She is literally “turnkey” for the cruising life style....Read full description
